5 types of Soulmates You Might Come Across in a Lifetime

Many believe that they will meet five soulmates in their lifetime.

It can be daunting to think so. When I first read about this fact, I started to panic.

What do you mean five soulmates?

Does that mean that my current relationship won’t last?

Do I still have three other people that I meet before I finally meet the one?

That relationship didn’t last, but that wasn’t the point I was getting at.

When we say the word “soulmate”, we often think of romantic love, but your best friend can be your soulmate too.

I knew this because my best friend and I were so in sync.

We had the same likes & dislikes. We had an intense soulful connection that we hadn’t had with anyone else in that time.

Some soulmates stay, some leave, some give us the world’s greatest treasure, while some might leave us with a big scar.

Either way, each soulmate teaches us a valuable lesson we need to grow.

Here are the five soulmates I have encountered in my lifetime.

1. Friendship Soulmate

They’re that one person who you have an amazing connection with.

They’re the friend available at 3 am, they finish your sentences, and even buy you food before you even realize you’re hungry.

They get you in a way that no one else does.

These are platonic relationships, but the easiest and drama-free one to be in.

And they’re the ones here to stay.

2. The Wrecking Ball Soulmate

Just like the Miley Cyrus song, they came in like a wrecking ball.

They are a force to be reckoned with and you couldn’t stop staring at them, in awe of who they are.

But like all wrecking balls, they cause some damage to your life and esteem, leaving you no other choice than having to rebuild yourself.

Perhaps the best lesson this type of soulmate could give us is an opportunity to find ourselves.

3. The Lover/Affair Soulmate

Spoiler alert: these kinds of soulmates don’t stay in your life for too long, but they leave you with beautiful memories.

They’re either your first love, someone you met while you were already in a relationship, or simply someone you had an exciting relationship with.

This kind of relationship takes time to build, and sometimes you form a connection with them out of nowhere.

And even after the romantic equation fades away from your relationship, the soul connection with them never fades away.

4. Complete Stranger Soulmate

Have you ever looked at a stranger and had this odd familiar feeling - as if you’ve known them before in this life or the previous one?

You feel like you know them from somewhere, but can’t place them from where.

Either way, being with them feels like picking things where you left them off from. It feels natural - more natural than it’s been with any friend you’ve had.

They arrive exactly when you need them, and validate the emotion you’re currently going through.

You know deep down that they were meant to enter your life and give you what you needed to move forward.

5. Divine Love Soulmate

This is the ultimate soulmate we dream of having, and if we’re lucky, we’ll get to spend the rest of our lives with them.

It’s the strongest connection you’ll feel with anyone. They feel familiar, intense, and everything you can dream of.
